四、翻译部分
82. How long does a jacket like this last me? -- __________________________（这要看你多长时间穿一次）.
[解析] 本题的难点在于不能对原文作字对字的翻译，“这要看”也就是说“这取决于”，“多长时间穿一次”问得是动作的频率，因此，本题考察的重点是“取决于”（depend on）这一短语搭配，这一短语在新概念三册第29课出现过（Whether we find a joke funny or not largely depends on where we have been brought up.）。本题答案为It depends on how often you wear it.
83. The theory he advanced has proved _____________（对许多传统概念的一种挑战）.
[解析] 本题考察的难点是词汇“挑战”（challenge），这是六级核心词汇。本题答案为a challenge to many traditional concepts。
84. The manager _____________（本可以亲自参加会议），but he was called away for some urgent business abroad.
[解析] 本题考察了情态动词的虚拟语气，“本可以做某事却没做”（could have done）。另外，本题同时也对“参加”的表达法进行了考察。在讲解新概念二册第8课enter for时，老师就enter for与take part in, join, attend进行了辨析，“参加会议”最好的说法是attend the meeting/ conference。本题答案为could have attended the meeting in person/ by himself。
85. Both research and practical experience have shown that a ________________（均衡的饮食对健康是必不可少的）.
[解析] 本题考查的重点是“必不可少”，可以用新概念二册的necessary，也可以用新概念三册的单词essential。本题答案为balanced diet is necessary/ essential to health。
86. Much _________________（我感到遗憾），I was unable to finish the work on time.
[解析] 本题是这5道题中难度最大的一个，考生首先要判断出两个分句之间是让步的逻辑关系，即“虽然我感到遗憾，但我仍然无法按时完成任务。”其次，本题涉及as引导的让步状语从句的倒装，即如果as引导的让步状语从句中有副词much，必须将副词much提前进行倒装。新概念三册第26课的“Much as we may pride ourselves on our good taste, we are no longer free to choose the things we wants”就是一个很好的例子。本题答案为regretted as I felt。

Should Parents Send Their Kids to Art Classes
该次作文命题特点如下：
1. 一如既往地贴近社会生活，话题是一个当前普遍存在的社会现象，所以对其展开讨论内容不成问题。
2. 结构是常见的相反观点对比阐述，并要求阐述个见的模式，所以结构的架设对于绝大多数考生都不构成问题，结构也就不应当作是得高分的法宝。
3. 第一段交代现象是什么，最好提一下现象的导致因素（即为什么），第二段谈两种相反观点和态度，其原因是论述的关键，每一个观点对应至少两点理由，同时过渡句很重要。第三段前可以先总结评论下前面的两种观点再引出个见，通常取折衷态度比较好展开及收尾。
4. 保证作文出彩的关键当然还是措辞和句式的多样，准确使用长难句，复句从句能使文章增色不少，以下范文共8句话，用了各种复杂句式结构，考生可以参照一下，有些句子可以广泛适用于同种类型作文的写作，例如任何现象作文都可以用” We cannot fail to notice that”引导宾语从句导入，引出两种观点前可以用” People have formed varying ideas on this issue.”作为总起句，正反观点过渡的时候使用 “The other perspective is quite the opposite.”，阐释中庸个见前用” There is an element of truth in both opinions, but I would rather maintain a moderate attitude.”来过渡。另外需要拿高分，一两处与众不同的表达也是必要的，例如，开头不必总是用 “With the development of the society, people…”可以先写people…然后用”in response to” 来引出现象后的社会背景和刺激因素。第三段也不要总是以”As far as I’m concerned”开头，可以用”I would rather maintain/hold a moderate/neutral opinion/attitude”这种结构来转换。
[参考范文]
We cannot fail to notice that an increasing number of parents send their kids to such art classes as dancing, musical instruments and painting in response to the social demand of all-round talents or the popularized practice.
People have formed varying ideas on this issue. Some are supportive for the reason that art classes not only help develop children’s potential, quality and confidence, but also enrich their lives and experiences, and that having kids occupied by art training is definitely a more constructive and safe way to take up children’s spare time compared with computer stuff. The other perspective is quite the opposite. Other people insist that disadvantages outweigh the advantages, concerned about the restrict on kids’ personal lives and the possibility of cramming their free time with one training class or another which may not fascinate them at all.
There is an element of truth in both opinions, but I would rather maintain a moderate attitude. Admittedly, it is necessary to play kids’ potential to full through art classes so as to free them from monotonous study life or enable them to be competitive and outstanding in future. It is equally critical, in the mean time, for parents to respect their children’s own interests and will, granting them the right to choose whether to attend or not.（编辑：胡慧） |
